Launching Toad is slow, taking a long time, consuming resources, or hanging on computers with McAfee security or anti-virus software.
McAfee Anti-Virus is scanning Toad or the Toad directories when launching Toad. This scan is taking up a large amount of CPU and RAM and can cause Toad to take several minutes to start up or appear to hang. When McAfee is turned off or disabled temporarly, this issue does not occur. Older versions of Toad did not have this issue.
Toad may have launched without issues in the past but started having issues with a McAfee update or Toad upgrade.
