Cannot reinstall some applications because during install, the Quest Installer notes it is already installed. But the application is not really installed.
There is no .exe and the installation directory and files do not exist.
The application was removed through add/remove programs and not through Quest Installer, so the QI log was not updated.
Reinstalled the application using the .msi directly. Once the application is installed you can go through Quest Installer to uninstall it again, if necessary to clean up the log, or you can continue using the application as it is installed.
Some applications have the .msi already available for download from SupportLink's download page.

But some you will need to manually extract from a larger installation bundle. Please refer to the following entry in the knowledge base about extracting the installer files:
Toad for Oracle 9.7 and older (for Toad and applications associated with Toad for Oracle, versions 9.7 and older)

Toad for Oracle 10.6 Silent Installation Instructions (for Toad and applications associated with Toad for Oracle, version 10.6)

This only applies to applications that goes through the Quest Installer for installation.
- Toad for Oracle
- Quest SQL Optimizer
- Knowledge Xpert for Oracle Admin/PLSQL
- Toad for Data Analysts
- SQL Navigator for Oracle
- Benchmark Factory
- Spotlight on Oracle
- etc.
If the application did not use Quest Installer to install, then you can uninstall outside of QI. If you are not sure, check the Quest Installer first. To access Quest Installer, go to Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest Installer | Quest Installer. It will list all the applications that it has logged.
