Query builder notes "Query cannot be modeled" when trying to save a common table expression (CTE). Is this supported? -
Description
Cannot visualize common table expression (CTE) in Query Builder.A CTE that works in SQL Server and in the editor of Toad cannot be saved in Query Builder.When trying to save the query in Query Builder, the error "Query cannot be modeled. You can execute the query without modeling it or correct the flagged problem to continue" is given. The CTE table is not being recognized at the end of the query.Is this supported? -
Cause
Visualization of CTE query is not supported by Query Builder, and so cannot be saved as a Query Builder tsm file. -
Resolution
CTEs can be run and are supported by Toad's editor. The query can still be saved as a text (i.e. .sql, .txt, etc) through the editor. -
Additional Information
This may apply to various versions of Toad Data Point and Toad for SQL Server.
