When trying to access a new procedure template the following error occurs:
File C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files\NEWPROC.SQL for PROCEDURE template not found.
RESOLUTION 1:
Toad's default templates for each version is located in the app data directory for the specific version. But the location of the template file can be customized and specified in a different directory. That information is specifically noted in View | Toad Option s| Proc Templates, and stored in the Toad.ini file.
To change the directory of a specific template:
1. Verify the location of the template in question (i.e. 'NEWPROC.SQL' may be found in C:\user\<personal folder>\appdata\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\12.5\User Files)
2. Once found, in Toad go to View | Toad Options | Proc Templates and verify the file/path noted there.
3. The path/Filename noted there can be changed to the expected location of the temp.
Save the change in options and they should be the applied for the next time templates are accessed.
RESOLUTION 2:
Another option is to rename/reset the directory of multiple templates all at once. Keep in mind, you can lose other customized setting in the Toad window:
1. Verify the location of the template in question.
2. Exit Toad
3. Go to the current version's app data directory (i.e. C:\user\<personal folder>\appdata\Dell\Toad for Oracle\12.7\User Files) and find the User Files\Toad.ini file.
4. Rename Toad.ini and start Toad.
Restart Toad to recreate the file. The settings will reset to default value. The templates should redirect to the most current version of the defaults tables,
RESOLUTION 3:
If the SQL Files are not found in any location, reinstall Toad for Oracle so the installer can created the templates completely.
