How to block URLs based on a predefined list of web sites, using Internet Explorer (IE) settings.
Resolution
This setting will allow specified websites and block all other websites.
Open the Desktop Authority Manager console.
Go to Client Configuration | Profiles | User.
Select a Profile or create new one.
Expand the Profile.
Highlight the "Web Browser" object and click on the "+Add" button.
Click on Windows Internet Settings.
Check the box that says “Use a proxy server...” and enter a fake IP Address, example 192.168.248.x and port 8080.
In the box under “Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with”, enter the addresses separated by a semicolon (;). Alternate forms of the website may also be used. For example: http://www.msn.com; http://msn.com; www.msn.com.
Save and replicate.
To verify the settings were applied to a client workstation, go to Start – Run and type regedit. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings, there should be a REG_SZ value called ProxyOverride. The websites that you allowed will be listed here.
