Cause
The following collections are available for DB2 agents.- DB2_Database_Log_Activity
- DB2_Database_Log_Messages
- DB2_Instance_Log_Activity
- DB2_Instance_Log_Messages
- DB2_Log_Activity
- DB2_Log_Messages

Resolution
The DB2 Log Messages, DB2 Instance Log Messages, and DB2 Database Log Messages collections obtain data related to the DB2 diagnostic log content. These all by default have a 90 day retention policy configured.
The DB2 Log Activity, DB2 Instance Log Activity, and DB2 Database Log Activity collections obtain data related the DB2 diagnostic log performance. These all by default have a 3 day retention policy configured. Some of the metrics are displayed on the DB2 database and instance overview pages. Metrics include:
- Log Writes Rate (Instance and Database)
- Log Reads Rate (Instance and Database)
- Log Writes Time (Database)
- Log Reads Time (Database)
- Total Log Available and Used (Database)
- Number Log Buffer Full (Database)
- Number Log Read IO and Write IO (Database)
- Secondary Logs Allocated (Database)
- Secondary Log Used Top (Database)
- Log Held by Dirty Pages (Database)
