How to change Desktop Authority configuration files if changing or renaming the Windows Server where Desktop Authority Management Console resides.
The server where Desktop Authority Management Console (DAMC) resides needs to have its Server Name changed. Certain configuration files will need to have the change made manually as well for the DAMC to continue to function after the name change.
Step 1: Make a backup copy of the slmgr.ini and system.net.dll files located at:
C:\Program Files\Scriptlogic Manager folder.
NOTE:
If on original installation of DAMC (Desktop Authority Manager Console) the path was changed, the Scriptlogic Manager folder may reside on D:, or other local drive.
If DAMC was installed on a 64-bit server, path would be, C:\Program Files (x86)\Scriptlogic Manager
Step 2: Open slmgr.ini file with Notepad or WordPad, then FIND and REPLACE all instances of the OLD SERVERNAME with the NEW SERVERNAME and save the file.
Step 3: Open system.net.dll file with Notepad or WordPad, then FIND and REPLACE all instances of the OLD SERVERNAME with the NEW SERVERNAME and save the file.
Desktop Authority Manager console should open successfully. If there is an issue due to the server name change, please contact Technical Support for immediate assistance.
