Stored procedure execution count differs in Instance level compared to database level -
Description
In the execution count for a SQL Server stored procedure using the same time range reviewing under the TSQL Batches at the particular database level it shows 9.8 million executions, but in the TSQL Batches at the instance level, it shows 1.2 million executions.
Why is there such a large disparity between these numbers?
Which number is accurate when it comes to how many times the stored procedure was ran?

Resolution
The correct value is the one under the instance level. This is taken almost directly from what sql server reports on the sys.dm_exec_procedure_statsWhen starting to associate with other dimensions, like database, the value is an aggregation of all the statements that run in the context of this procedure, which can obviously be more than 1 per tsql batch execution. This is because of the nature of the dimension cube.Quest Development is aware that this is a limitation and considered changing the column name in case the dimension is not under the instance level. This was not done due to possible affects on other areas of the component.
