The Foglight for Databases deployment guide recommends for FMS systems with over 50 agents to set the maxActiveConnectionsCap to 1024.
How is that calculation determined?
Is 1024 less than what is required when monitoring 600 or 800 database hosts.
The maxActiveConnectionsCap only works for the connections created by FglAM service, while JDBC connection from database agents are not made by the FglAM service (java server, not "Windows Service"). The number of concurrent connections should be less than four per agent, this depends on the timing and frequency of the collector.
Use a value in the maxActiveConnectionsCap field based on a multiple of the number of database agents * 3.
For example 400 agents * 3 = set the maxActiveConnectionsCap to 1200
