Error 'File is not a valid Query Builder Model' when trying to load old .dml file into newer Toad. -
Description
After upgrading Toad, the .dml saved Query Builder file can't be opened. The error 'File is not a valid Query Builder Model' is given.
The file was built using Toad for Oracle 11.0. There was no issue building, running, saving, and opening the file in 11.0. But now upgraded to Toad 11.6, the error is given and the saved sql cannot be accessed.
This is an issue for any old .dml file created before version 11.6.

Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
.DML files can be opened in Toad for Oracle 11.5 and older. Version 11.5 is the first version to include the new .QBX extension.Install Toad 11.5, open .DML file in there, then save file as the new .QBX extension.The new file saved as .QBX can then be opened in newer versions of Toad.WORKAROUND 2:
Install Toad for Oracle 12.6 32bit.*
Note, Toad 32bit versions requires a 32bit Oracle client.
WORKAROUND 3:
Open the DML file in the old Toad for Oracle version, copy the SQL query of the diagram and use it in the newer versions of Toad for Oracle to build a diagram which can be then saved as a QBX file.STATUS:Waiting for a fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle.**This is an issue in Toad version 11.6-12.5. Toad 12.6 32bit has addressed this issue, but it is still an issue in the 64bit version of Toad 12.6 -
