When I try to use SQL Optimizer I get a message noting that I'm working with trial, but I have a commercial key, licensed for Optimizer though Toad. I launch Toad and then launch Optimizer through Toad. I am never prompted for a key, but the Toad key is a commercial, not a trial key.
Why is it picking up as a trial of Optimizer but not a trial of Toad.
When I tried to register the key in Optimizer, I enter in the correct key and site message, but it shows a message of "Invalid Authorization key (wrong edition)".
How do I get a commercial version registered?
Trial install of SQL Optimizer is installed and being accessed by Toad even though the commercial version of Toad is installed. The commercial key cannot be applied to the trial version of the install.
SQL Optimizer installer can be included with other application's installer, but keep in mind that the Optimizer is a standalone application that works and installs separately from other Quest applications.
Uninstall trial version of SQL Optimizer and make sure the commercial version of Optimizer is installed.
Commercial installer for Quest SQL Optimizer can be downloaded from www.quest.com\support | Downloads and Updates.
Keep in mind, some of the newer versions of SQL Optimizer (7.x+) commercial version by default comes with a trial key. You will need to enter your commercial key under Help | Authorization. Refer to SOL38049 in this case.
