Cause
When using the Database Configuration tab within Server Manager for database maintenance, the error below occurs:

Resolution
This error occurs when Desktop Authority Manager attempts to communicate with SQL Server 2005 using a version of SQL-DMO that is not supported by SQL Server 2005.
To resolve this issue:
- Close Desktop Authority Manager.
- Download and install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components
- Windows Installer 3.01 - Windows Installer 3.01 must be installed in order to launch the .MSI package for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components. Please note that Microsoft has specific instructions for installing Windows Installer 3.01 on Windows 2003 SP1.
- Open Desktop Authority Manager and continue.
