MTA or MSA agent cannot be started properly. The following log lines may be seen:
Reinstallation of agents including shared components has no effect.
Installing agents on alternate agent hosts also has no effect.
Running a "Repair" on the Migration Manager files may have no effect.
Migration Manager may also be up to date with patches.
Mismatched DLL file versions for Migration Manager may be present. It is possible that an upgrade or applied patches have not been successfully applied and causes the issue.
To check for file version corruption:
1. Right click on any Exchange pair created within the GUI of Migration Manager under "Mailbox Synchronization."
2. Select "Gather Support Information."
3. There will be a file named EMWLibs which contains file versions of Migration Manager DLLs found in the installation directories.
File versions may be seen that are mixed. For example, if you have installed QMM 8.10, you should not see 8.9.XXX.XX file versions within the listing of DLL file versions.
Rebuilding the Migration Manager console completely, may be the best option to ensuring every file is matched.
Alternatively, comparing all DLLs, one by one, may be possible to repair the console, albeit, more time consuming.
