Security concerns may raise the question: "Which port LiteSpeed uses to connect to a SQL Server."
Explanation of function/design
LiteSpeed uses Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) to communicate to the SQL Server and will connect using the same SQL Server port, by default SQL Server uses port 1433. ADO enables your client applications to access and manage data from a range of sources through an OLE DB provider. ADO is built on top of OLE DB and its main benefits are ease of use, high speed, and low memory overhead.
LiteSpeed installs extended stored procedures on SQL Server and does not require any other port access than the valid SQL Server connectivity.
Applies to all versions of LiteSpeed and SQL Server.
