Unable to install LiteSpeed remotely, the error message cannot connect/open registry key is displayed.
Error received when running installation or instance configuration on a cluster: Failed to connect to registry on (node name) node
REMOTE REGISTRY service is turned off or is not responding. The remote registry service is not running on the target machine. The remote registry service must be running on the target machine in order for the installer package to update the registry.
WORKAROUND:
Start the remote registry service on the target machine to allow the installer to update the registry.Verify by using REGEDT32 utility to test the connection and permissions to the registry on the remote machine.
1. Select Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services.
2. Verify that the Remote Registry service is started.
If the RemoteRegisty Service is already running, restarting it may also resolve the problem.
File and print sharing under the network settings must be enabled to provide access to the second node of the cluster during the installation process.
