When performing a QMM for AD job via a migration session the job simply "times out" and reports "Timeout Exceeded."
The DSA.log file may not generated any errors or even write new entries at all.
Additionally Synchronisation job may not proceed or they behave unexpectedly.
Microsoft Messaging Queueing (MSMQ) may be having issues or is not installed. MSMQ is used by the DSA to communicate through its services. The services are not functioning properly the DSA will exhibit irratic behavior and may hang.
Reinstall the MSMQ Microsoft components.
1. Stop the DSA agents.
2. Enter the Windows control panel.
3. Under Add/Remove Windows components > MSMQ , uncheck MSMQ to uninstall it. Complete the process by closing the window.
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Resinstall the MSMQ components. Select "Active Directory Integration" and "Common" under the subcomponents.
6. Restart and attempt the migration session again.
