Rum Processing does not finish -
Description
Resource Updating task for Processing does not finish. Also if the task is selected and the Show Progress screen shows some items as Not Selected even though during the configuration those parameters were selected. Another indication something is wring is that the Processing log is either not created or incomplete. -
Cause
This issue can be caused by certain Scheduled Tasks especially those associated with restrictive software or Anti Virus or Anti Malware -
Resolution
If RUM remote logs are not available you can check the local agent log on the workstation\server located in the following location:
C:\Windows\Quest resource Updating Agent\x64
It has been found that in Windows 10 Workstation Processing that when the MetroAppCleanup procedure is leveraged that the scheduled task interrupts this process and does not allow the Processing task finish. This will give various results depending on when and if the scheduled task starts and where the Processing task is in the progression of the task, sometimes showing various parameters as Not Selected but not the same one every time.
The Resource Processing Utility does not have the capability to ignore, skip or edit scheduled tasks or any other system related issues that would prevent the successful completion of the process. These issues can be taken to the vendor of the offending software and they can provide avenues to temporarily suspend the issues that are affecting the Resource Updating while still maintaining a secure environment during the Migration process.
