Description: Restore failing with 'XBSA Error: (BSAGetObject) Backup object does not exist'
Symptoms: Viewing the Bar_Act.log the messages appear as follows;
2008-01-07 09:06:06 24899 24897 Successfully connected to Storage Manager.
2008-01-07 09:06:29 24899 24897 XBSA Error: (BSAGetObject) Backup object does not exist in Storage Manager.
2008-01-07 09:06:29 24899 24897 (-43260) ON-Bar was unable to get backup record of rootdbs from storage manager.
It was found that the Netvault Server machines nvinformx.cfg file, under the field of [OnBar:DefaultRestoreSourceClient], the backup/restore value should stated the Informix client that the backup was taken from. It was stating the new Informix Client machines information that we were restoring the data to.
Modify the file '~netvault/config/nvinformx.cfg' [OnBar:DefaultRestoreSourceClient],
'Restore Backup Taken from NetVault Client'
Value = <New Informix machine> changed to
Value = <Old Informix machine> that the backup was taken from.
The field is now set to the NetVault name of the client where the backup was taken.
You can manually edit the file or use the plugin configuration..
This should be done on NetVault Clients well as the NetVault Server.
