How to resolve "records with no job definition " errors from nvscheddbcheck

Symptoms:
When running nvscheddbcheck, errors of the type:
48 job instance data records with no job definition
58 job instance id records with no job definition
152 change records with no job definition

are seen.

There are two ways to compact the NetVault schedule database. You can configure your NetVault Database backup to compact the database after it has checked it and backed it up, or you can manually compact it using the CLI command nvscheddbcheck.


1) shutdown Netvault
2) run
nvscheddbcheck compact (located at: NetVault/util)
3) re-run
nvscheddbcheck check

and the errors should no longer be seen


Explanation:
When removing jobs from Netvault, stubs are left behind in some of the internal tables referring to the deleted jobs. These can be removed using the "compact" function.
