Description:
INTERNAL: Understanding NetVault Backup Trace Log Timestamps
Timestamps in the NetVault log appear to be somewhat cryptic. Once you understand what they’re based upon and how to decipher them, the time stamp makes perfect sense.
The time stamp is based upon Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
When looking at the trace log, the time stamp is the fifth column from the left. The time stamp will be six numbers- period- six numbers. The first six numbers are HHMMSS, and the second set of six numbers are unknown (not needed). You will need to subtract the time in the log by the time zone you are in (Pacific standard time “-8 hours and pacific daylight time “-7 hours).
Example: The log shows a time of 214554.204670. Forget everything on the right-hand side of the period. Take 214554 mi
