When backing up a windows server, the job fails at the point where it trys to backup the SYSVOL:

Trace on the filesystem plugin shows us:

This can also happen when a domain controller is demoted. The sysvol directory will not be available if it is no longer a domain controller.
In Microsoft Windows, the System Volume (Sysvol) is a shared directory that stores the server copy of the domain's public files that must be shared for common access and replication throughout a domain. The term SYSVOL refers to a set of files and folders that reside on the local hard disk of each domain controller in a domain and that are replicated by the File Replication service (FRS). Network clients access the contents of the SYSVOL tree by using the NETLOGON and SYSVOL shared folders.
1) disable the system state backup in the APM
2) take a windows system state backup
3) backup the resulting file with Netvault Filesystem.
Explanation:
If SYSVOL is in a non default location (ie not in the c:\windows\sysvol location), the APM will not work with non default SYSVOL location.
The only work around currently is to take a system state backup:
