Description: Upgrade to the NetVault version 8.5 fails with "The script 'preinstall.sh' ... exited with error code 1"
Symptoms: If you run the upgrade to the NetVault version 8.5 with the NetVault Configurator open the upgrade will fail even if you stopped the NetVault Services.
You will se the following error pop window:
The script 'preinstall.sh' which is run as part of the installation, exited with error code 1".
You will see the location of the file preinstall.sh.outputXX.
XX is how many time you run the installation.
The file preinstall.sh.outputXX. contains more information on the error
This file is placed inside the Temp directory in your machine.
If you open the file preinstall.sh.outputXX, you will find the following message:
"preinstall running
Checking if nvconfigurator is running
nvconfigurator.exe
