Description:
This document describes the mapping between Netvault error codes and Windows Event error codes.


Symptoms:
It might be desirable to instruct Windows to trap certain event error codes in order to perform other functions using monitoring software such as MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager).

The error codes we send to the Windows Event log are as follows:

"Background" Informational 0x1001 4097
"Information" Informational 0x1002 4098
"Job Message" Informational 0x1003 4099
"Startup" Informational 0x1004 4100
"Warning" Warning 0x1005 4101
"Error" Error 0x1006 4102
"Severe Error" Error 0x1007 4103

So if you wanted to retrieve/trap all events with Warning and Error severities (Warnlevel: Warning, Error and Severe Error), you would trap Windows Event IDs 4101-4103.

To trap all (current) NetVault events, you would use 4097-4103.
