Description: Customer would like to create a VTL using a script.
Symptoms: Linux or Unix based user would like to create a VTL using a script instead the NV program. -
Resolution
There are a few VTL creation scripts available on the Internet or that were previously supplied by BakBone. The use of these scripts to create VTL's is not recommended or supported since they do not create the required files and configurations to successfully work with NetVault. The only supported method for generating VTL's is by using the NetVault program. We will not assist with any problems arising from creating a VTL in any manner other than via NetVault.
