Description:
Directory can not be browsed in the Backup Selections screen.

Symptoms:
Attempting to open a directory in the Backup Selections screen fails. Double-clicking on the directory does not open it, and there is no 'Open' option in the directory's pop-up menu. The Icon for the directory is a little different to normal.

Cause:
The item (directory) may be a symbolic link to another directory. This is signalled by (what looks like) a link of chain in the left part of the directory icon. Linked directories can not be browsed.

Perform a 'View Details' from the pop-up menu to confirm if the directory is a symbolic link to another directory.

Linked directories can not be browsed. Find the location of the directory linked-to, then browse the destination.

Note that a backup will not follow the link. If the item is selected, only the link is backed up. To backup the directory that is 'linked-to', select it explicitly in the Backup Selections screen.
