The NEXSAN device was about 5-6 years and were constantly writing to it.
This was pointing to a Hardware issue for the NEXSAN SVTL Raw Device and would generally advise to contact the Hardware Vendor regarding this issue, but resolved the issue by performing the following steps:
1] Remove the SVTL from NetVault Device Management.
2] Upgraded NEXSAN Firmware.
3] Created a Filesystem on the SVTL to perform disk checks and all was OK.
4] Removed the Filesystem on the SVTL and changed to a RAW device.
5] Re-added the SVTL in NetVault Device Management.
Performed test backups and all completed successfully.
