Description:
Unable to backup SQL Server evaluation edition
Symptoms:
SQL Server APM backup of evaluation SQL Server fails with license error:
"This license key is invalid for this edition of SQL Server [instance name]". -
Resolution
SQL Server APM does not support evaluation versions of the SQL Server.
Check the edition of the SQL Server from either SQL Server Management Studio or with this SQL command:
SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')
Ensure the result of the transact-SQL command does not show "Evaluation edition of SQL Server". -
