Description:
RMAN backup/restore fails when oracle user password contains single-quote character.
Symptoms:
RMAN backup/restore fails with error RMAN-0188 error when the Oracle user password is configured with single-quote character (e.g. pass'word).

Resolution
1. Re-configure the Oracle user password not to use the single quote.
or
2. Disable "Use Oracle Password File Authentication" option. But note that OS authentication has to be enabled when disabling the Oracle password authentication method. -
