Description:
Specific problem with NetVault: Backup 7.4.5, APM for MySQL
Symptoms:
When relocating a MYSQL restore to a new server, the MYSQL restore fails with "Unable to find the specified target server"
Binary log extract:
Error 2008/03/07 13:45:19 134 Data Plugin NVRFAIL1 Unable to find the specified target server 'nvrfail2'
Error 2008/03/07 13:45:19 134 Data Plugin NVRFAIL1 Failed to get all index entries
1) ensure that the target server has the same APM version, MYSQL version and that the APM is configured correctly. In order to check this - try expanding the APM node to see any MYSQL databases below the node.
2) on the restore job - make sure that the "instance name" in the restore options is the same as the "instance name" in the target server's MYSQL APM configuration
3) Make sure the login information for the target instance in the restore options tab is correct.
4) On the restore job - make sure that the "Target Client" has been selected as the target client that is the same as the "target instance" in the restore options tab.
