Description:
SQL Server for Windows 2000/2005 fails to restore to alternate SQL Server instance on another machine - "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON.'
Symptoms:
SQL Server for Windows 2000/2005 fails to restore to alternate SQL Server instance on another machine - "Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON.' -
Resolution
Make sure that -
* Same version of SQL server is installed on original and alternate SQL Server machine.
* The SQL instance to which the database is restored to must be accessible from the SQL Server APM.
* Correct instance name is configured in "Target Instance:" field of the "Restore Options" tab. -
