Jobs are hung in a state of "Running Storing Backup Index". Sometimes it will take a long period of time to complete.
Verify that while these jobs are running, there is no NVDB backup job running at the same time. The NVDB backup should not be run while others jobs are running. One of the consequences of this is the delayed write of the backup indexes into the NVDB.
Also make sure that you have plenty of free disk space for the ../netvault/tmp directory on the client.
Cache Memory might also be the root cause. It is suggested to try to increase these settings, apply the changes and stop and start the services on the backup client and server.
Here are the steps to follow:
Bring up the "Netvault Configurator" for the machine. From here go to the "Process Manager" tab.
Increase the: "Shared Memory used for Process" table from 500kb to 2 or 3 MB (2048 or 3072), Newer versions of Netvault allow more shared memory to be set and the "Number of Progress Buffers Available to Plugins" from default to 200 or more. Again, newer versions allow you set higher values such as 1000. After changes, stop/start the services and attempt to re-run the jobs.
The changes with the Shared Memory will not be dynamic i.e. current running jobs would not use this increased shared memory. The NetVault Services must be stopped and started for the changes to take effect.
