2005-07-08 13:43:12 2617412 3133510 ON-Bar was unable to get backup record of rootdbs from storage manager.
informix onbar activity log (bar_act.log)lists : -
“XBSA Error (BSAQueryObject) Backup object does not exist in Storage Manager”
Modify the informix plugin configuration file ~netvault/config/nvinformx.cfg
Note: this must be done on BOTH netvault client AND server
So that the configuration field 'Restore Backup Taken from NetVault Client' is now set to the netvault name of the client where the backup wa taken -
This can be acheived by manually editing the file or through the plugin configure gui.
The file entry that needed to be modified as detailed below
if the orginal backup was taken on an informix machine that has been assigned a netvault name
of BACKSERVER
from :
[OnBar:DefaultRestoreSourceClient]
Tab Name=Informix Plugin
Tab Name Id=0
Type=String
Label=Restore Backup taken from Netvault Client
Label Id=0
Value=OTHER_MACHINE
to:
[OnBar:DefaultRestoreSourceClient]
Tab Name=Informix Plugin
Tab Name Id=0
Type=String
Label=Restore Backup taken from Netvault Client
Label Id=0
Value=BACKSERVER
the reason for this configuration requirement is that the informix plugin indice that the contain the objects are referenced by client name.
so the source client that the orginal backup was performed on has to be listed in this field otherwise the plugin will fail to find the relevant index
and the objects required for the restore.
