As part of investigations into backup or recovery problems, support personnel often ask customers to generate trace (or debugging) files. Depending on the requirements and the environment there are several ways to approach this.
Notes:
a) Any tracing is always local, so if trace is required on both Server and Client, it must be setup on both.
b) When the "Generate debugging" flag is set via the configurator, processes only start tracing when they start (or are restarted).
c) After 7.4, it is no long possible to control the levels of tracing, all tracing is libverbose for all processes.
d) The location of trace files must be considered carefully, they can grow very large very quickly, and filling the disk where NetVault is installed will result in Netvault shutting down. The locatio
