When running a NetVault database backup with the checking option enabled warnings are generated:
Scheduler database check identified unreferenced records
Context of that warning shows messages of the type:
4 job instance data records with no job definition
4 job instance id records with no job definition
8 change records with no job definition
After running a compact, these errors disappear but then reappear on subsequent days when the NetVault database backup is run again.
The immediate warnings can either be ignored or removed by running a compact on the database during backup.
However, this will not prevent future occurrences of the warnings.
These warnings come about when a job is deleted from the schedule database, either by
1) Manual delete through the NV GUI
2) Running the CLI command nvjobdelete
3) Running an NDMP job with the options "delete autogenerated backup jobs on completion " selected.
The physical deletion of these jobs from the schedule database leaves a stub which can only be cleaned up by running a schedule database compact. Refer to SOL79337 for schedule database instructions.
