Snapshot is not getting deleted on Vcenter while running the backup from NetVault
Cause
When backing up a VMware environment controlled by a Virtual Center server all functions related to a vm's configuration (snapshot creation/removal, mount, unmount) are coordinated through the Virtual Center via API calls from the NetVault proxy. The Virtual Center also manages it's own database and all functions of the VSphere environment and is resource intensive. A pause in disk I/O or network I/O can cause an API call to be missed or not handled in a timely manner.
Resolution
Do not include a vm running the Virtual Center in a backup job that includes other vms. It should be run on its own when no other vmware backups are occurring.
It is not recommended to run the NetVault VMware Plugin on the Virtual Center server.
