How to remove RMAN Controlled Backup jobs from the NetVault Backup database on regular basis. (4043466)

Each time a NetVault Backup (NVBU) Console/GUI configured Oracle RMAN backup job is performed additional "RMAN Controlled Backup" jobs are created and appear in the Job Management window. Backup and restore jobs performed from the RMAN command line also generate "RMAN Controlled Backup" and "RMAN Controlled Restore" jobs. These jobs must be manually removed from the NetVault Database.

From the operating system shell, navigate to NetVault's "util" directory -

• Windows - C:\Program Files\Quest Software\NetVault Backup\util
• Linux/Unix - /usr/netvault/util

Execute the following command -

• Windows - nvjobdelete.exe -jobtitle “RMAN controlled backup”
• Linux/Unix - nvjobdelete -jobtitle “RMAN controlled backup”

Running the command when no other backup or restore activity is taking place is recommended.

Note: Versions of NVBU earlier than 8.6 installed into "C:\Program Files\BakBone Software\NetVault Backup"
