Description: This FAQ describes why a VaultDR Online for Linux backup might fail with the error 'Storix Boot Image File does not exist (/storix/temp/linuxboot.iso)' and how to resolve this.
Symptoms:
The VaultDR online backup fails immediately with 'Storix Boot Image File does not exist (/storix/temp/linuxboot.iso)'. An extract of binary log shows:
Error 2007/08/31 12:35:51 187 Data Plugin GATE2 Storix Boot Image File does not exist (/storix/temp/linuxboot.iso)
Error 2007/08/31 12:35:51 187 Data Plugin GATE2 Failed to validate Linux Boot Images Files
The most likely cause of this failure is that the Boot Image has not been created yet. The first backup must create a file called /storix/temp/linuxboot.iso (the "Boot Image").
This error can be resolved by modifying the job, ticking "Boot Image" in the Selection tab of the job and running the job again.
