Description:
When the tape is ejected from a standalone tape drive, NetVault device management still shows it as in the drive. When a new tape is placed in the drive, it doesn't recognize the new tape. It still shows the old tape.

Resolution
NetVault isn't notified when you eject a tape from a standalone drive, using the button on the front of the drive. You must eject the tape via NetVault device management, or with the nvdeviceeject command. By default NetVault will then poll the drive every minute to see if a new tape has been placed in the drive. -
