Cause
Oracle backups failing with the below error after upgrading from 12c to 19c
'+DATADG/xxxx/spfileixxxx.ora' does not existFailed to complete backup of Parameter filesThis happens when Netvault is looking for the Sfile but is not able to find it ,post upgrade of oracle application the file location (spfile) could change causing the backups to fail . -
Resolution
Spfile is located under the below location
The SPFILE file name is
spfileSID.oraand is located in theORACLE_HOME\databasedirectory.Make sure that the file exists in the oracle home path.
In most of the cases when you upgrade the oracle application from one version to another ,the directory structures of the oracle home path and related files will change, so it is always advised whenever to reconfigure the backups is netvault to make sure that it is pointing to the correct file path.
