How to use the shell on a Snap Server running Guardian OS (4042650)

Symptoms: BakBone Support asks you to log into your Snap Server to perform tasks on the Linux shell, but you don't know how or only get a limited set of commands.

In order to get command line access to the Snap Server, you need to open an SSH connection to the Snap Server. For this, SSH needs to be enabled on the Snap server. Once you have connected (using Putty, for example), on newer Guardian OS versions you will only be presented with a limited shell and restricted commands.

To gain access to the full Linux shell, type the command:
osshell
