Occasionally, the Microsoft Installer (MSI) leaves a key in the registry folder HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products that says NetVault is still installed. Unless you manually delete the key it created, the NetVault installer will fail with the message "The older version of NetVault cannot be removed"
Run "regedit" and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
There will be a key that is not labeled other than a string of numbers. Delete the key.
NetVault: Backup should now be able to install without error.
