Description
Domino plugin for Lotus Notes backup job fails immediately
When attempting to run a backup job it fails immediately. Also, when attempting to browse the selection tree you cannot open up the Lotus Notes Plugin tree.
Trace logs may contain an error similar to
Could not initialize the connection to Lotus Domino properly. error=417.

Cause
One likely cause is that Console Security has been enabled on the Domino server. Trace logs may contain an error similar to
Console security is an additional security feature in the Domino Administrator which prevents any command or application from execution without the additional Console Security password. -
Resolution
Workaround:
Turn off the Console Security. It is the Domino Server which prevents any command or application from running if console Security is enabled.
