Description
NetVault is running into an issue where the backup job is not backing up some files13 files could not be indexedWhen the customer wants to restore the job the .bak files are missing.Vmware block level backups cannot Restore .BAK files -
Cause
The file is highly fragmented and the index entry for that file exceeds the maximum size (that is, 64K).When an index entry is omitted, the plug-in generates the following trace log message:File <file name> is too fragmented to index.Additionally, the job logs show the following message:files could not be indexed. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
None
Either use File level backup or directly use the files system plugin, if you want to protect these files.
The File System Plugin is included with your NetVault install. It is in the packages/standard folder.
