Exchange backup completes with Failed to get database status for Public Folder Database xxx message. -
Description
An Exchange 2010 backup completes with the following warning message:
Warning 2013/09/21 05:50:17 338 Data Plugin MAILSRV01 Failed to get database status for 'Public Folder Database 1801996812'
NetVault couldn’t receive a status for the Public Folder i.e. either online or offline.
The backup does complete. -
Cause
Plugin for Exchange is utilizing the powershell command Get-MailboxDatabase to get status of all Mailbox Database. Unfortunately this command does not work against Public Folder Database in specifically Exchange 2010.
This issue does not happen in Exchange 2013 and above.

Resolution
You can still see the saveset of the backup of the Public Folder Database and other mailbox in the Restore window. The backup is not affected by this issue.
