Return Code 1208 An extended error has occurred. -
Cause
The particular return code may occur when attempting to map a network drive and the system time set on the domain controller does not match the system time on the server where the shared folder is being mapped from or the user’s machine’s system time. Any time difference of more than 5 minutes could cause this issue. -
Resolution
Run the following command on the command prompt on the server where the shared folder is being mapped from or on the user’s machine:
NET TIME /domain:mydomainname /SET /Y
Note: Replace mydomainname above with your actual domain name.
The command listed above will synch the system time of the machine to the system time of the domain controller.
