The KACE SMA (Systems Management Appliance) Client routinely inventories at the set "Inventory Interval" schedule specified under SMA appliance Settings | SMA Agent | Agent Settings. For debugging and testing purposes, KACE provides the following methods of forcing an inventory outside the normal schedule.

Method 1:
1. Log in to the SMA Administrator Interface.
2. Click Inventory | Devices, click the check box next to each computer where an inventory update is needed.
3. In the Choose Action menu, select Force Update of Select Item(s).
Method 2:
1. Log in to the SMA Administrator Interface.
2. Click Inventory | Devices, click into the computer to inventory.
3. Click Force Update.
Method 3:
1. Log in to the SMA Administrator Interface.
2. Click Scripting | Run Now.
3. In the Filter text box next to the Scripts drop-down list, type Force Check-in. The Force Check-in script displays in the drop-down list.
4. In the Scripts drop-down list, select Force Check-in. Note: For Mac and Linux systems, select Force Check-in (Mac/Linux).
5. To use a label of machines click Edit next to Limit Deployment To Selected Labels OR to specific machines, select the system name in the Limit Deployment To Listed Machines drop-down list.
6. Once the machines are selected, click Run Now.

To force an inventory on the client, here is a list of each operating system's respective command lines:

NOTE: Gaining elevated rights will vary on the distribution of Linux, but is typically either sudo or su.
