How to setup offboard backup transfer (4287864)

How To use the "Offboard Backup Transfer Settings" from Settings | Backup Settings to automatically offload appliance backup files to a designated share. Please use this link for a video walkthrough of the new Offboard Backup Transfer process

When configured, the appliance copies the regularly scheduled backup files to an external location each time it completes the backup process.

Note: This feature was introduced in v9.0 and was not available in previous versions.

To setup offboard backup transfer, please complete the following:

1. Identify a storage location/device in the environment where SMA (KACE Systems Management Appliance) backups can be stored (Samba, FTP, SFTP)
2. Go to Settings | Backup Settings
3. Scroll down to "Offboard Backup Transfer Settings"
4. For "Disable Offboard Backup Transfer", uncheck the box to enable the setting (disabled by default)
5. For "Offboard Backup Transfer Protocol", use the drop-down box to choose between the following types (based on the storage location identified in step 1):
   1. FTP
   2. Secure FTP (SFTP)
   3. Samba
6. For "Offboard Backup Transfer Server", enter the hostname or IP of the desired storage location/device
7. For "Path or Share Name", enter the directory on the device where backups will be stored
   1. Hostname/IP are not needed in the path, as this was provided in the previous step
8. For "User Name", enter the user name necessary for the location/device
   1. It may be necessary to use the format of domain\user
9. For "User Password", enter the password associated to the user in step 8
10. Click Save at the bottom of the page
11. Optional: Scroll back down the page after it is saved and use the Test button next to the password to test the share (the test will attempt to place a small file in the storage location)
