NetVault NAS and NDMP compatibility

Overview

This topic provides information on the NAS devices supported by NetVault Plug-ins for NDMP, SnapMirror to Tape, and Snapshot Manager. This topic also identifies configurations and restrictions for supported NAS devices. This information provides guidance on what NAS devices the plug-ins support. Validate the compatibility of these devices before purchasing NetVault products. Additional information is available in the applicable NetVault product release notes.

Periodically, new devices require the addition of support packs. These support packs are installed in addition to the NDMP Client and SMT Plug-ins. Support-pack requirements are outlined in the applicable tables. These support packs are cumulative and are superseded when new support packs are released; thus, the newer version always contains content from the previous versions.

Support escalations may require upgrading to support pack release n or n-1 to ensure optimal support. If you have questions or feedback, or if you need assistance finding the appropriate software to support your device, contact Quest Support.

NetVault supports all transfer models available; however, not all vendors provide this level of support. The different topologies supported for each NAS device are described in the following topics. The Quest NetVault Plug-in for NDMP User's Guide describes the topologies supported by NetVault.
