Monitoring VSP arrays requires a slightly different procedure than monitoring AMS arrays. When monitoring AMS arrays, the SMI-S provider that is part of the Hitachi HiCommand server is used. This is the same server that hosts the Hitachi Tuning Manager. When monitoring USP or VSP arrays however, SMI-S data must be collected from the SMI-S provider embedded in the array itself. The Tuning Manager on the HiCommand server is still used for performance data collection. For details, see Configuring Agents to Monitor Storage Devices.
Foglight for Storage Management collects information from the HP EVA storage arrays using the SMI-S interface of the SMI-S provider integrated with Command View EVA management software. For procedures describing how to install and configure this component, see the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Installation Guide.
The following versions of HP EVA arrays are supported by Foglight for Storage Management:

Your environment must meet the following requirements:
During this procedure, you configure an agent to monitor the server hosting HP EVA Command View. You are prompted to select the arrays to monitor. For details, see Configuring Agents to Monitor Storage Devices.
