HTML Element Properties

HTML Element Properties display HTML-specific editable fields that allow you to monitor and change scripts.

The HTML name of the element being viewed.

If multiple elements on the page contain the same text, this specifies which one is the target element.

The order that the elements on a page are searched to find the target of the action.

Name of browser frame window

The object location within a frame. The Foglight Transaction Recorder uses two methods to refer to a particular frame in a frameset by its name or by its index number. When viewing the Properties window, Top or _top refers to the window object of the page at the top of the frame hierarchy. The top window has an index of zero. All other frame index numbers are generated by the browser in the order that the frames are defined in the HTML, beginning at one. Frames use the name="FrameName" attribute in the <frame ...> tag. If no reference frame displays in the properties list, _top is implied.

The Reference ID is a zero based index of the specified tag name within the page.

The numbers are assigned sequentially, starting with zero, in the order they appear on the page.

The X (horizontal) coordinate of the element being viewed in relation to the Main Window.

The Foglight Transaction Recorder main window has three functions:

The Results Window displays real-time information while a script is being played.

The Output Tab shows diagnostic and trace information reported by the application during the execution of the script.
